The Obscenity Prayer

Insecurity is a really ugly trait
And it's impossible to see
'Cause it's written on your face
Just take a moment to think about all the times that you let it fall out of your mouth
It comes back to haunt you

An apology can't effect the past
But it can effect the future and the future's coming fast
We're sinking down to the bottom of this bottle and the sun starts coming up
We better call it an evening

And now I'm talkin' shit
'Cause lately I've been fucking feeling like old hat
'Cause there's a million people better than me at the only thing I'm good at
And I don't expect this feeling to be unique only to me so let's fucking see

And I know that I don't have the patience to outgrow or overcome things out of my control
I can't accept any less but any more and I'm a mess so I'll bottle it all up or I'll let it go

Insincerity is filling up the bar
And it's impossible to stop when you don't know who you are just ask a few friendly questions like "how are you?" "What the hell are you doing here?" And just try to stay honest.

Immaturity is something I maintain
So when I see it in other people it's impossible to complain
But I can still recognize it and it helps me recognize it in myself and try each day to be better

And I know that I don't have the patience to outgrow or overcome things out of my control
I can't accept any less but any more and I'm a mess so I'll bottle it all up or I'll let it go

I probably said a couple things I didn't mean
I probably said a couple things about a thousand times
I probably said it didn't matter to me but it matters.

I probably said a couple things I didn't mean
I probably said a couple things about a thousand times
I probably said it doesn't matter to me and that I don't care at all and that it don't mean a thing but it matters

about

Mystery Weekend Ottawa, Ontario

“One could technically call this trio a supergroup, but the term seems too proud to apply in this case, because Mystery Weekend frame themselves as modest and carefree as a side-project can get“.
- Ultimate Guitar, Feb. 2017

....No, we're pretty comfortable with the label SUPERGROUP!!!!!
